Basic Oil
Painting Materials Art supplies can get expensive -- oil in particular. But good materials make painting more enjoyable! We do rent materials at classes, but if you really want to continue on your own, you'll want to have your own supplies. At a minimum, you'll need: 16x20 or 18x24 canvas A large Palette (or) Palette Paper Paper Towels Odorless Thinner A table easel Alexander 2" Blender Brush Alexander 1" Foliage Brush Alexander Fan Brush Alexander Liner Brush Alexander Palette Knife Magic White Medium Titanium White Ivory Black Alizarin Crimson Prussian Blue Sap Green Cadmium Yellow Burnt Sienna Yellow Ochre There are all sorts of other things you can add to this. Sometimes other colors are nice to have, as well. Some things that I find nice to have include: An apron Collapsable standing easel A paint can for holding thinner Alexander cleaning screen for the bottom of the can Filbert Brush Indian Yellow Pthalo Blue Pthalo Green Permanent Red My list is by all means not all inclusive! You'll figure out other things as you work on your own! |
